Interim Vice Provost for Academic Programming and Planning

Mark D. Bradbury, PhD serves as Interim Vice Provost for Academic Programming and Planning. He previously served as Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. He is a Professor in the Department of Government and Justice Studies and previously served as Director of the accredited Master of Public Administration program. Bradbury has been a faculty member at Appalachian State since 2005.

In his role as Interim Vice Provost, Bradbury coordinates the Flight Path initiative and has administrative responsibility for the University College units, General Education, Student Success programs, international efforts and more. He liaises with the academic policies and procedures committee, enrollment planning groups and the leadership of academic colleges, and he performs other duties as assigned by the Provost.

A first-generation student, Bradbury holds a B.S. in political science and public administration from Rhode Island College and master's and doctoral degrees in public administration from the University of Georgia. He has received awards for teaching and mentorship from Appalachian.
